    Pelvic Rest

    So the other day
Sadie and I went for our walk
Doc told me I was supposed to go walk for 30 minutes a day
in an attempt to maybe forestall having another 10 pounder
    We'll see....
So we went for our walk
And Sadie was really good, slept, ate her snacks,
But I wasn't feeling very good
I just felt so tired and achy
But whatever, I've felt like that a lot with this pregnancy

So as we're finishing our walk, I get a call from HM asking me if I would go get something for him from the house
So we packed up and drove home
And went to the house to get his stuff and as I walked through the door
I felt like I kinda wet my pants....
Like the way it feels when you sneeze at 8 months along :)
And I thought, wow, what was that???
And it happened again.... and then again....
So by the time I got to the bathroom I discovered blood everywhere....
And I was freaking out!!!  I'll admit I cussed even....
So I changed clothes really fast (Sadie still sitting in the running car outside!)
And then went to find HM's thing
But couldn't find it, so mostly I just paced around my garage and finally decided the order of who I would call:
    1.  Doctor
    2.  HM
    3.  CH to see if she could watch Sadie

So the secretary said she would call my Dr's secretary and have her give me a call.....done
Then I got in the car and started driving to CH's to drop off Sadie and go to the Doc
Called HM on the way and cried hysterically :)
Dropped Sadie off at Grandma's still crying
And went to the Doctor's office even though she still hadn't called me back

When I got to the Dr's office, the nurse didn't really look at me cuz she was really busy
But as soon as she did, she had me come back and sit down
I was still crying and basically sat there and cried while she made calls to see who could see me right away
Then she walked me down the hall to see this other doctor and told me:
"I'm sorry honey, think positive okay?"
    So I cried more.....

The lady who saw me was a really nice black lady my age :)
(Gee, just think, I could be a doctor right now!)
She checked me out and said my cervix wasn't dilated
    (meaning I wasn't in labor)
But the "amount of blood was definitely a concern"
    no kidding!

So HM showed up sometime in there
And we went from there to have an ultrasound
I just had an ultrasound 3 weeks ago!
So not long afterwards, we went in for our 2nd ultrasound
    And there was my peanut
with legs and arms and moving all around
It was the most beautiful thing in the world
She was fine and everything looked okay

Right then my lady doctor came into the ultrasound to see
Said she was on her way out and wanted to see what was up
    (what a good doctor!)
The technician showed her one of the pictures and said "I think this might be the problem"
(I'm looking at the pictures going: what do you see in all that????)
Okay, she says: this is what is wrong:
You have a blood clot behind your uterus
This is what is causing the problem.
The baby is doing fine though, and looks good

Hopefully your body will just absorb the excess blood and it will all just go away on its own
So you are on "Pelvic Rest" Wink
(I told SH this and she said: "Awh, poor HM!" Wink)
until you are a little further along and we're sure everything is okay
Tylenol is your best friend and try to take it easy

So I went to the Doc again today--my Dr. this time
And listened to the baby's heartbeat--176
And he said everything seemed super good for how far along I was
I have another ultrasound in three weeks to see how things are going
And until then, no uh... excitement :)

3 WEEKS?!!!!!! Dang! Hang in there and don't start thinking since you're feeling better you can do stuff, or you'll end up just having to be on "pelvis rest" even longer. Trust me on this one. :) Love you!!!!!

Those kinds of things can be so scary. I went through something similar. Take care of you and that little peanut.
