It's Christmas at our house today

We got our oven and our fridge!

They aren't hooked up yet.. but they are here.

 

Also, we got our Internet and Cable hooked up!

YAY!!!!!!

This means that FINALLY FINALLY FINALLY

K, you want to play a game?
This is called
What's for dinner?
Now, imagine that you have:
No fridge
No oven
No stovetop
No microwave

You can't boil water
Cook meat
Make freezer dinners
Cook pasta
Or bake a casserole

The only thing you DO have is a tiny little toaster oven
So you can cook a SMALL casserole maybe
And you do have a george foreman grill thing
Oh, you also have a crock pot if you want as well

Fast food is out because you've been living on that crap for a week or so and everyone is sick of it

You can't have anything in the fridge because well... you don't have one
And you can go to the store to buy the refrigerated things
But you have to pretty much use them all up
Because once home you can't put them back in the fridge

So...? What's for dinner???

Monday we were supposed to close
But didn't

Tuesday we waited all day
And finally found out that Escrow
"couldn't find the money"
That they verified they had Monday

Wednesday we waited all day
Assured that by the VERY LATEST
We would close by 2 or 3
And FINALLY at about 4pm
SH got notification that we closed
(we're that "rolling my eyes" face here....? )
And by 5pm we FINALLY got the keys

We finally did it!
We own a house :)

We're repainting and repairing
Essentially there are all kinds of people at our new house
Doing things as we speak
Carpet cleaners
Texture guys
Gardeners
Plumbers
Pool guys
Bug guys
And carpet guys

It's gonna be great
So we're probably moving in for real next weekend
(not this one but next)

By the way, anyone want to rastle up some little scouts and rototill my backyard? :)
We'd made cookies for you and everything! (or Smiths might, but what's the difference?)

YAY YAY YAY... we love our new house

Still haven't closed on the house
*SIGH*
We signed loan docs on Wednesday
But Escrow claimed they barely recieved them on Friday 1pm
DUH
"Maybe next week" she said
Stupid crap....

We went and visited the house again yesterday though
Went and showed L and the boys around to see it
Everything is growing
And surprise:
The Bank is actually doing the "caring for the grounds"
Like they were supposed to all along
Or rather, the listor is maybe actually doing his job
And they have trimmed all the palm trees!
They also trimmed all the bushes and raked a lot of the stuff off
So on the picture of the courtyard where you see all that stuff on the ground?
That's all gone now
And while it still needs work
It is a lot better!

HM and I are pretty grumpy this weekend
I gotta be honest
It's been week after week of hoping and hoping and saying:
"Next week we'll have the house"
And finally, in the worst week possible
three weeks after we were supposed to close
We might finally get it
At a time when HM has no time
And when I'm out of school but can't do anything until he does his stuff
It seems like a total waste
Of what we thought would be a perfect time
Turned into a perfect trial
Instead of it being planned and orderly
It's gonna be a lot of really long days and nights
Trying to get everything done in a week
That we thought we would have weeks to get done
Instead of having time to do things where I didn't have work
All my free time will be spent waiting for the house to even close
It's just frustrating and we're cranky and irritated that it's taking so long
So everyone who wanted to come help?
Who knows when we will need your help
We still don't know and once again just have to say:
Maybe next week.
